2222- The key of David – 2222

(EDIT: This is not finished yet. There is a lot more to this. The following is what I initially learned. There is something prophetic about the numbers 2222 and 222. I’m not going to explain, because I only know part of it. Also. Today (Not the time this was written, the time of this edit.) is 02/23/2007. Something began in the Spirit on this day, Febuary 22nd 2008. I’ll be writing about it soon. This post sounds so immature, but I’m leaving it up. lol)

The Lord woke me up during the night and gave me a vision of the numbers “2222” scrolling across a screen. You can read more about it in my other post. I had no idea what it meant until the Holy Spirit revealed it to me almost a month later (happened to be on Easter Sunday..go figure). I’ve never read the following scripture before either, its so cool when the Lord actually teaches you something, just him and you. I just don’t get the academic side of the Bible, maybe someday I will..but when I try to study it and “learn” on my own, it just doesn’t work…when the Holy Spirit does it….its just so cool and leaves a lesson that forever sticks with you. I probably should add that the “2222” ended up being Isiah 22:22 which says in the NIV..
“I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”

The Presence and excitement of God hit me like a ton of bricks when I read that. He was telling me that he was giving me spiritual keys, the authority to open and shut doors in the spirit..in my life and in others. Being the assuming person that I am (sometimes) I thought that was it. It was like, “Woot…got the keys…now lets go use them.” lol. I still had, and still do have, a whole lot to learn. A couple weeks ago the Lord showed me what these keys were, and what they meant. He is still in the process of showing me. I’m a visual person, so half the time I’m visualizing what I’m reading in scripture, or what God is speaking to me..I kind of got stuck on this one. “I will place on your shoulder the key”…hmmm…how would you visualize this?

Would you picture a really REALLY big skeleton key being placed on your shoulder? Maybe a really small house key? like God standing in front of you with a little key…he takes it off his tiny key ring and places it on your shoulder…”ding…here u go Scott…dont move or this little key will fall to the floor…………you moved!! Oh NOES!!!!!”. lol. I don’t think so. So yeah, I COULD NOT visualize this, and it really iritated me. Then it hit me (if this is like common knowledge taught everywhere then MY BAD…I didn’t know it until my friend the Holy Spirit told me) the “key to the house of David” is the CROSS. lol. When Jesus carried the cross it rested on his SHOULDER…”I will place on his shoulder”….HELLO…lol. So if the Lord was telling me that he was giving me a key..spiritual keys….what exactly does that mean? If the key to the house of David is the cross….then how can he be giving me the key..which is a cross? Lets take a look at the following scriptures!!!!! YAY…YAY FOR SCRIPTURE!!! (thank God for biblegateway.com) (side note: I have the written Word all over my heart…i just dont know where they are located in the Bible…so the following scriptures may or may not be the ones i wanted..MWUAAHAHA)

Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. – Luke 9:23

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me – Galatians 2:20

Man, the answer to this only leads to other questions…which all have answers that lead to more questions. lol. The first question you have to ask yourself is…What does it mean to deny yourself and take up your cross? AND..What does it mean to be crucified with Christ? Well here is my personal interpretation…and how I live my life in the Lord…this is only part of it..i cant explain it all. (I feel like this is getting confusing…lol…its so simple its complex)

Christ was crucified on the cross and he gave up his life to bring life to us…right? If I am going to take up my cross, deny myself and follow him then I am giving up my life..not only for him….but for YOU (or the fruit of my earthly ministry). Let me paraphrase what he was saying in Luke. “Hey! I’m giving up my entire life to redeem man kind. I’m giving up everything my flesh wants to do…my flesh does not WANT to be tortured…I would like this cup to pass from me…but I’m doing this because my death will bring life. In the same way I died…die to your self and take up your cross (key of David) so that others might come into life through your death (to self)”. I die to my evil and selfish desires, I die to the things I want to do, I die to sin…to depression…to envy…I give up certain things in life (sinful or “non sinful” ..anything that hinders or distracts me) for the people my ministry will effect. When a seed falls to the ground it has to die before it can produce fruit (life). Get what I’m saying? Christ died to bring me life…if I’m going to take up my cross and die to myself..then that will also bring life (Christ’s life) to the people my earthly ministry effects.

And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. – Luke 14:27

The cross represents death (in my opinion). Christ died to set me from the law of sin and death, what the law was powerless to do in being weakened by my sinful nature, Christ did by dieing on the cross. He gave me the grace, the power to follow in his foot steps….the grace to carry my own cross.
So getting back to the key to the house of David. I can go on and on, but to be honest Im not in a writing mode…and I’m literaly forcing this out of me…maybe its out of season for this. If this makes no sense to me when I read it back then I might just delete the post. To make a really long thing simple and short…

I’m trying to say that if you want the authority, if you want the key that can open and shut doors in the spirit…in peoples lives…then your going to have to PAY THE PRICE….because the key to the house of David is the cross…and he places it on your shoulder…just like Christ…you have to carry your own cross.
